“Disseminate the information to all concerned students and motivate them to participate in the National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA,” the DoE instructed school administrators.
For SHRESHTA, which intends to offer deserving SC pupils a top-notch education in the city’s best private residential schools, the Delhi government is accepting applications from qualified students. According to a circular from the Directorate of Education (DoE), the students will be chosen via the National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS), which is set for June 1. gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh
Applications are accepted through May 5 on the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) website. The Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment launched it during the 2022–2023 school year. In order to assist Scheduled Caste (SC) children, the Scheme for Residential Education for children in High Schools in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) makes it easier for them to enter into certain private residential schools in Classes 9 and 11. Up until Class 12, students selected under the program continue their study at the designated schools. gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh
“Disseminate the information to all concerned students and motivate them to participate in the National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA,” the DoE instructed school administrators. To guarantee a broader audience, the schools have also been instructed to promote the program on social media and other channels.
Through NETS, 3,000 students are selected annually. Based on student selection and merit, schools are assigned using an online counseling process. A minimum of five years of operation is one of the eligibility requirements for participating institutions. gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh
According to the DoE, in order to be qualified, schools must be able to admit at least 10 SC students each year and maintain a pass rate of over 75% in board exams for three years. Tuition and housing costs for students are covered by the program and are paid straight to the schools. gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh
By working with nonprofit organizations, SHRESHTA seeks to expand the scope of the government’s development program and close the gap in places where Scheduled Castes (SCs) predominate and lack access to services in the education sector. It also seeks to enable brilliant Scheduled Caste (SC) kids access to high-quality education and to create an atmosphere that promotes the socioeconomic advancement and general development of SCs. gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh
The 100-mark SHRESHTA NET is a multiple-choice question test that includes questions from the following subjects: general awareness/knowledge, science, math, and social science. Examinees will have three hours to complete the test, and they will receive four marks for each right or most appropriate response. Incorrect or unaddressed questions will not receive any marks. Hindi and English are the languages used to answer the question. gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh gh
The DoE circular states that the results would be made public four to six weeks following the exam.
