The Directorate of Education (DoE) has released a directive for the admission of government school students to Class 10 under the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) for the year 2025-26 session. As per the circular, students of government schools under DoE who have been marked ‘fail’ or put in ‘compartment’ in Class 9 or 10 for at least two times up to the previous session (2024-25) are eligible to enroll in the NIOS Class 10 programme. fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg fg
But those who have failed or got a compartment for the first time in the 2024-25 session are not eligible under this scheme and are requested to remain in their current schools, it said. Heads of schools would have to identify, reach and register eligible students. They should also ensure the entries are updated in the MIS module prior to registration, it said. Two languages are to be chosen by students, Social Science as a compulsory subject and two other subjects with practicals, the circular said. The languages are Hindi, English and Sanskrit, it added. Students will also be entitled to a uniform allowance under the Direct Benefit Transfer scheme of the DoE, the circular added. The deadline for submitting online applications and fees is July 31, it added.
The NIOS 2024-2025 academic session result is yet to be announced. This time, on April 9, the NIOS Class 10 and 12 examinations took place for the Indian and foreign exam centres.
