UPSC Releases 2026 Exam Calendar with Key Dates for CSE, NDA, CDS, and More

Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026
UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination is on May 24, 2026, and the Main Examination is on August 21, 2026. The CSE official notification comes out on January 14, 2026, and the window for applying remains open till February 3, 2026.

National Defence Academy (NDA) and Combined Defence Services (CDS) Exams
The NDA and CDS examinations are held twice in the year 2026:

  • NDA & CDS (I): April 12, 2026
  • NDA & CDS (II): September 13, 2026

Notifications for these tests will be issued on December 10, 2025, and the deadline for applications will be December 30, 2025.

Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination
The IFS Preliminary Examination will be held along with the CSE Prelims on May 24, 2026. Shortlisted candidates will move to the IFS Main Examination, which will start on November 22, 2026.
