As per an official announcement from the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), schools within the Srinagar Municipal limits will now run from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Srinagar center reported on Thursday that from May 22 to 26, the region can expect generally hot and dry weather, with a chance of light rain in some areas during the late afternoon. A weather advisory has warned of a rise in maximum temperatures by 1–2°C across parts of Kashmir until May 23, which could increase the likelihood of a heatwave in isolated spots.
