ASSEB Announces Relief for Flood-Affected Students
The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has announced a special relief measure for students who lost their academic documents during the recent floods. Eligible students will receive duplicate copies of essential educational records free of cost, ensuring that the disaster does not interrupt their academic journey. The temporary initiative is aimed at supporting students in the flood-affected districts of Charaideo, Sivasagar, Jorhat, and Golaghat.
Students Can Replace Important Academic Records
Under the relief initiative, students can apply for duplicate copies of important documents such as marksheets, pass certificates, admit cards, and registration certificates. These records are often required for school admissions, higher education applications, scholarships, and competitive examinations.
To simplify the process, the board has waived the requirement of submitting a police complaint for lost documents. Instead, applicants only need to provide a self-declaration confirming that their original documents were lost or damaged in the floods.
Separate Online Process for Class 10 and Class 12
ASSEB has introduced separate online application systems for different categories of students. Those seeking duplicate HSLC or AHM (Class 10) documents can apply through the board’s online services portal, while students requiring Higher Secondary (Class 12) records can submit applications through the official Higher Secondary portal.
The board has advised eligible students to complete the online application process as early as possible to avoid delays in academic admissions or other official procedures.
Relief Aims to Protect Students’ Education
The initiative comes as many families continue recovering from the impact of floods that damaged homes, schools, and personal belongings across several districts in Assam. Losing academic documents can create significant obstacles for students, especially during admission and examination periods.
