Government and Industry Voices Endorse AI in Education
Shree Rajkumar, Head-Quality Cell-RMSA Madhuamik Shiksha Vibhag, and ASPD Madhyamik Shiksha Vibhag, and Shree Gunjan Patel, Director & Head AI Skills, Skills for Social Impact Microsoft India participating online, were the Chief Guests at the function.
In the words of ASPD Madhyamik Shiksha Vibhag’s Shree Vishnukant Pandey, “AI is taking over the world fast – and as administrators, principals, teachers, and students, it is our responsibility to learn about using AI and extending our capacities.” “On the grassroots level, the government has to depend on the teachers to execute its numerous aspirations on the field. The kind of institutions like TAP are a boon to this movement, bringing all our students, teachers, and industry giants like Microsoft together on a common agenda.”.
In response to probing into the potential for the future of inclusive education, educators, specialists, and policymakers participated in a panel meeting dubbed “Nayi Shiksha, Nayi Soch: Equipping Uttar Pradesh’s Students for Life and Work.” The visitors could benefit from partaking in an introduction to a session on AI and the Future of Education moderated by TAP’s leadership staff alongside the students’ display.
“We always talk about artificial intelligence (AI) with a future point of view, whereas artificial intelligence is already a reality. We are living in the current moment. So, I would like to highlight that students and teachers both should be ready to leverage artificial intelligence to its best possible extent,” said Shree Gunjan Patel, Director & Head of AI Skills, Skills for Social Impact Microsoft.

Scaling Impact: TAP’s Vision for Inclusive, AI-Integrated Learning
Applying artificial intelligence and experiential learning to empower students TAP’s initiative, which was initiated as a pilot for Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow and Varanasi, has provided government school students with a chance to explore and practically implement 21st-century skills. For academic year 25–26, TAP, in collaboration with Microsoft India, aims to scale AI-led learning across 17 government and government-aided districts, impacting another 5,000 teachers and over 1,50,000 students, in accordance with the Department of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh’s official Letter of Engagement.
TAP Buddy, which is connected with GPT-3.5 and offers a personalized, self-directed course of study in Coding, STEM, Arts, and Financial Literacy, is the hub of all these innovations. TAP Buddy provides Indian language translations via a partnership with Bhashini, an Indian government-run AI language platform, ensuring that students can get a secure, inclusive education while learning in their own language.
“We are introducing students to a mindset that sets them up for long-term success with TAP Buddy—not solely teaching them how to code or manage money,” said Monica Pesswani, co-founder of The Apprentice Project. “With support from Microsoft India and a partnership with the Uttar Pradesh government, TAP is creating an educational model in UP that directly supports the India artificial intelligence vision of inclusive, transformative development.” TAP is breaking new ground in innovation by introducing an AI-driven assessment platform to assess student work and track the development of cognitive abilities. Students can acquire a critical thinking and problem-solving mindset to excel in the future by leveraging this automated feedback system, which provides data-driven feedback.
About The Apprentice Project
About the Apprentice Project: Through innovative STEM (science, technology, arts, and leadership) education, The Apprentice Project (TAP), a non-profit organization, seeks to empower children from low-income marginalized communities and build a 21st-century skillset. With the combination of bilingual education and AI technology, TAP is breaking down barriers to learning and building a new generation of leaders and innovators. In 2023–24, Harvard, IIM B, and Teach for India alumni-founded TAP reached 34,000 students across 246 schools and facilitated more than 482,000 interactions on the app. Students who go through TAP’s program have registered two times as much improvement in being creative, problem-solving, and emotionally controlled compared to their peers.
