This initiative is aimed at supporting meritorious single girl students who have excelled in their CBSE Class 10 examinations and are continuing their education in Class 11 at CBSE-affiliated schools. The scholarship encourages academic excellence while also promoting the importance of girls’ education in India.
According to the official notice, students who meet the eligibility conditions can now submit their applications online through the CBSE scholarship portal. The deadline for submission of applications is October 23, 2025. Schools must also complete the online verification process for the applications submitted by students within the stipulated time.
Eligibility Criteria for
To be eligible for this, the student must:
- Be a single girl child of her parents.
- Have secured at least 70 per cent or more marks in the CBSE Class 10 Examination.
- Be studying in Class 11 and 12 at a CBSE-affiliated school.
- Have a tuition fee not exceeding Rs 2,500 per month. For NRI applicants, the tuition fee cap has been set at Rs 6,000 per month.
- Belong to a family with an annual gross income of up to Rs 8 lakh.
The board has also clarified that NRI applicants are eligible to apply under the scheme, subject to the specified tuition fee conditions.
Application Process
Interested students can apply for the CBSE Single Girl Child Merit 2025 by visiting the official CBSE website at cbse.nic.in. The application process involves the following steps:
- Visit the official website and click on the scholarship application link.
- Fill out the scholarship application form with accurate details.
- Upload the necessary documents as mentioned in the instructions.
- Submit the application online.
- Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.
Schools are required to verify the applications submitted by the students to ensure authenticity. Without school verification, the application will not be processed further.
Scholarship Benefits and Renewal Conditions

If a scholar changes schools, switches courses, or discontinues her current course of study before completion, renewal of the scholarship will require prior approval from the CBSE board.
