CBSE’s Visionary Step: 50-Hour Annual Training Now a Must for Teachers

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released new guidelines requiring school leaders and teachers in all the affiliated schools to undergo professional development. In two official notifications of April 1, 2025, the Board detailed a systematic training mechanism in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST).
As per the guidelines, all teachers have to undergo a minimum of 50 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) annually-half under CBSE or government training centers, and the remaining half through in-house or local collaborative programs. ss fd ss df fre dr df hj rt hj kjh jh kjh kh kh hjh kjhkj jhj

CBSE Training Teacher

This training framework is prepared to facilitate the alignment of teachers with NPST benchmarks and provide quality teaching and enhanced student performance. The framework also considers the wide CPD guidelines recommended by the NCERT. The CPD Guidelines published by the Board also recognizes the activities that are pedagogically oriented and are contributory to teaching-learning practices. Assessment responsibilities carried out by the teachers for Class X and XII Board Examinations, practical examiner’s responsibility, other developmental activities like research projects, presentations, attending CBSE Conferences, item development, e-content development, CBP development, curriculum review etc. have been acknowledged as CPD hours as per the quantum notified in the said CPD Notification. fd gj x w tz w6

For the year 2025, STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) has been declared the annual training theme by CBSE.
