April 23, 2025: Delhi High Court directs C-NLUs to publish revised results
The Delhi High Court issued its ruling on the CLAT 2025 undergraduate results, highlighting discrepancies in five questions from the UG exam’s Set-A paper. Specifically, it instructed the Consortium to award marks for question 14 to those who chose Option ‘C’ and to exclude question 100 from the evaluation.

As a result, the Consortium was tasked with republishing and renotifying the final list of selected candidates within four weeks, which could lead to changes in candidate rankings by as much as 1.25 marks.

April 22, 2025: Court orders republishing of CLAT 2025 UG merit list Building on its previous observations, the Delhi High Court has mandated that the Consortium of NLUs release a revised and re-notified final list of selected candidates for CLAT UG 2025 within a four-week period. The revised results and merit lists are now anticipated to be available by May 21, 2025.

April 21, 2025: Hearings on CLAT PG results commence The Delhi High Court has kicked off hearings on petitions that are challenging the CLAT 2025 postgraduate results. Petitioners have raised concerns about inaccuracies in the answer key and the evaluation process, which has led the court to take a closer look at these claims and what they could mean for PG admissions.

April 16, 2025: Uncertainty looms over result validity As the legal proceedings continue, candidates are left in suspense, waiting for clarity on the status of the CLAT 2025 results. The Consortium has postponed the release of the first merit list and the start of the counselling process, all while awaiting the court’s decisions on the disputed evaluation issues.

April 9, 2025: Verdict on CLAT UG result petitions is reserved After hearing a series of petitions that challenge the CLAT UG results, the Delhi High Court has reserved its verdict. The court has acknowledged the worries expressed by candidates about possible errors in the answer key and evaluation, signaling that a thorough review will take place before a judgment is made.

April 7, 2025: High Court tackles CLAT UG result challenges The Delhi High Court gathered to hear several petitions contesting the CLAT UG results. Understanding the stress students are under, the court promised to expedite its decision to address the alleged discrepancies in the examination process.

March 4, 2025: Appeals set for consolidated hearing in April The Delhi High Court has scheduled a consolidated hearing for April 7, 2025, to tackle various appeals challenging the CLAT UG results.

February 6, 2025: Supreme Court consolidates CLAT petitions In light of the numerous petitions filed in different high courts against the CLAT 2025 results, the Supreme Court stepped in to streamline the process.

Led by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, the bench directed that all cases be heard by a division bench of the Delhi High Court on March 3, 2025. Registrars from several high courts, including those in Bombay, Karnataka, Punjab and Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Calcutta, were instructed to transfer the judicial records of pending cases within seven days.

It seems that this proposal was revisited later on because different parties had varying preferences. Some were in favor of the Karnataka High Court, while others leaned towards the Delhi High Court, which had previously dealt with issues related to the CLAT 2025 answer key. The court sent out notices to the petitioners and set the hearing for the first week of February.

On December 24, 2024, the division bench upheld the decision made by a single judge.

After the single judge’s order on December 20 to amend the CLAT UG 2025 results due to mistakes in two questions, the Consortium of NLUs decided to appeal. However, the division bench of the Delhi High Court found no significant error in the single judge’s ruling and permitted the Consortium to move forward with declaring the results as per the earlier judgment.

On December 20, 2024, the court mandated a revision of the UG results.

A single judge bench of the Delhi High Court instructed the Consortium to update the CLAT 2025 UG results because of errors found in the answer key for two questions, following a candidate’s plea. This order was a response to a challenge against the initially announced results, calling for necessary corrections.

On December 7, 2024, the CLAT 2025 results were made public.

The Consortium of NLUs released the CLAT 2025 results for both UG and PG programs, allowing candidates to check their scorecards on the official website. The results were initially set to be announced on or before December 10, 2024, with counseling registration opening on or before December 11, 2024. The first allotment list of selected candidates is expected to be published on December 26, 2024.

On December 6, 2024, two law aspirants took their concerns to the Supreme Court regarding discrepancies in the answer key.

These two candidates filed a petition challenging the provisional answer key issued by the Consortium of NLUs. They claimed there were inaccuracies in the answer key, unreasonable objection timelines, and procedural errors during the exam. The petitioners requested a stay on the publication of the results.
