DU UG Admissions 2025: Step-by-Step Guide to CSAS Portal, Eligibility & Seat Allocation

DU UG Admissions 2025

The University of Delhi (DU) has officially opened its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for undergraduate admissions for the 2025-2026 academic session. With over 71,624 seats available across 79 affiliated colleges, aspiring students now have the opportunity to begin their admission journey. The portal can be accessed at admission.uod.ac.in.

Phase 1: Registration and Application Submission

The CSAS process will take place in two distinct phases. Phase 1, which has now begun, is primarily focused on registration. Candidates are required to fill in their personal information, CUET-UG 2025 roll number, and Class 12 board marks. Academic credentials need to be uploaded at this stage, but candidates are not yet required to choose their preferred programs or colleges.

To complete registration, General and OBC candidates must pay a fee of Rs 250, while SC, ST, and PwD category candidates need to pay Rs 100. There are additional charges for those applying under performance-based programs (Rs 400) and the ECA/sports quota (Rs 100). It’s important that all details be entered accurately before the deadline.

Phase 2: Preference Selection and Subject Mapping

Once the CUET UG 2025 results are declared, Phase 2 of the CSAS will commence. This is when students map their CUET subjects to Class 12 subjects and submit their marks for evaluation.

The next step involves verifying eligibility for specific DU programs using the mapped subjects and CUET scores. The CSAS portal provides filters and intuitive navigation to help students choose and rank their program and college combinations.

Before final submission, candidates must lock their preferences by the deadline. If no action is taken, the system will auto-lock the most recent selections. The order of preferences is critical and will be considered during the seat allocation process. No changes can be made after the final submission.

Seat Allocation: Offers and Choices

Once both phases are completed, Phase 3 will involve the seat allocation rounds. Based on the rank, availability, and preferences, students will receive seat offers. They will have the option to accept the offer, reject it, or opt for an upgrade in the next round.

Several rounds of seat allocations will take place to ensure that most candidates find a suitable match. DU has advised students to respond promptly during this phase to avoid missing deadlines.

New Requirement: Class 10 Marks for Tie-Breaking

This year, DU has introduced a new requirement: submission of Class 10 board exam results on the CSAS portal. These marks will serve as tie-breakers in situations where students have identical CUET and Class 12 scores. This addition is intended to ensure fair and transparent selection.

Important Alerts via Registered Email

To help applicants stay informed, DU will send all important notifications such as seat allocation results, payment deadlines, and admission updates via registered email. Candidates are urged to monitor their email regularly to avoid missing crucial updates.

Subject List Changes for 2025

In a notable update for the 2025 cycle, DU has removed five subjects from its domain-specific list, including Engineering Graphics and Entrepreneurship. Students are required to take the CUET in subjects they studied in Class 12 or in comparable subjects, unless specified otherwise.

Streamlined Process for Smooth Admissions

DU has emphasized that the CSAS process has been designed to be student-friendly and efficient. By automating key steps and ensuring timely communication, the university aims to minimize confusion and help students complete the admission process smoothly and without delays.

The opening of the CSAS portal marks the beginning of a crucial journey for lakhs of students aiming to secure a place in one of India’s most prestigious universities. With careful planning, timely submissions, and accurate information, candidates can ensure a hassle-free admission experience.
