HSC Result 2025: 91.88% Pass, 38 Colleges Fail

Pass percentage in the Maharashtra HSC Result 2025 has dipped slightly this year to 91.88%, compared to 93.37% in 2024. Despite the marginal fall, over 13 lakh students successfully cleared the exams, with girls once again outperforming boys.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared the Class 12 results on May 5, with result links becoming active at 1 PM on websites like mahresult.nic.in, mahahsscboard.org, mahahsscboard.in, and hsresult.mkcl.org.

Stream-Wise Performance

The Science stream recorded the highest success with a 97.35% pass rate, followed by Commerce (92.68%), Vocational (83.3%), and Arts (80.53%).

This trend reaffirms the academic strength of science students, while also highlighting the challenges faced by students in the Arts stream.

Division-Wise Performance

Among the nine regional divisions:

  • Konkan led with the highest pass percentage of 96.74%
  • Latur reported the lowest at 89.46%

Other notable performances include:

  • Mumbai: 92.93%
  • Pune: 91.32%
  • Nagpur: 90.52%

Gender-Wise Statistics

Girls have once again surpassed boys:

  • Girls: 94.54%
  • Boys: 89.51%

The consistent outperformance of girls continues to be a positive trend in Maharashtra’s education system.

Exam Data and Score Distribution

Out of 14,27,085 registered candidates, 13,02,873 students passed the exams.
Score brackets show:

  • Above 90%: ~4,500 students
  • 75% and above: 1,49,932 students
  • 60–74.99%: 4,07,438 students
  • 45–59.99%: 5,80,902 students
  • 35–44.99%: 1,64,601 students

College-Wise Highlights

Of the 10,496 colleges, a total of 1,929 colleges achieved a 100% result, while 38 colleges reported a 0% pass rate, sparking concerns over their academic standards and infrastructure.

What’s Next for Students?

  • Re-evaluation and verification applications are open until May 20.
  • Students who failed will get a second chance through supplementary exams, for which the board will release the schedule soon.
  • Mark sheets can be downloaded online, and the original certificates will be distributed by respective colleges in the coming days.

SSC Results Coming Soon

For Class 10 students, the SSC results are expected to be announced later this month. Students are advised to keep checking the official websites for timely updates.
