IIT BHU placements in the 2024–25 academic year have proven to be a massive success, with over 1,373 job offers made so far. In a year marked by global hiring uncertainties, 15 students have broken the Rs 1 crore salary barrier, and the highest package has reached an impressive Rs 2.20 crore. The placement season has not only met expectations but exceeded them, showcasing the institute’s rising stature in the job market.
Surging Ahead Despite Global Challenges
More than 300 companies have participated in the placement drive, offering roles in software development, core engineering, data analytics, finance, and consulting. Despite economic slowdowns in key markets, the strong turnout from recruiters reflects the institute’s continued reputation for producing top-tier talent. Four international offers were also made this year, further highlighting IIT BHU’s growing global footprint.
Team Effort Behind Student Success
Professor Sushant Kumar Srivastava, Coordinator of the Training and Placement Cell, attributes this remarkable performance to a collaborative effort. “Our focus on readiness and resilience is enabling students to not only meet but exceed expectations in competitive hiring environments,” he said. His words underline the importance of continuous support and mentorship provided by the institute.
Director Professor Amit Patra also shared his thoughts on the milestone. “Technology is changing at a rapid pace, and so is our curriculum. With our interdisciplinary approach and strong alumni network, we ensure that our students are not just academically excellent but also industry-ready,” he said.

A Broad Range of Career Options
This year’s placements have opened doors for students across various domains. While software engineering continues to be the dominant sector, several students have also been recruited in consulting firms, financial institutions, and core engineering roles. Companies have shown increasing interest in hiring candidates with not only technical expertise but also strong communication and leadership skills.
Students benefited from practical training, research opportunities, and hands-on experience through internships and industry projects, making them well-prepared for real-world challenges.
Consistent Year-on-Year Growth
The numbers reflect steady and impressive progress in placements over recent years:
Academic Year | Students Registered | Offers Received | Highest Package |
---|---|---|---|
2020–21 | 1,380 | 895 | Rs 40 LPA |
