Akshat Kumar Chaurasia, who achieved an impressive 98% in his Class 12 exams, successfully tackled the JEE Main and Advanced on his very first try.
As the IIT Kanpur zone topper in JEE Advanced 2025, Akshat credits much of his success to his mother, Vaishali Chaurasia.
She made the significant sacrifice of leaving her home to move to Kota with him, providing unwavering support and helping him navigate the pressures of competitive exams.

“A huge part of my success is thanks to my mom, who willingly came to Kota to stay with me in the same hostel. I know it’s not the most comfortable place, but I really admire her for sticking it out.
I also want to express my gratitude to my dad, Manoj Kumar Chaurasia, who never opposed this decision. If they hadn’t made such a brave choice for my education, things wouldn’t have been as smooth. My dad works as a senior divisional manager at Oriental Insurance,” Akshat shared, hailing from Varanasi.
Looking ahead, Akshat aspires to study computer science at IIT Bombay.
“I truly believe that technology is going to dominate the world for the foreseeable future. From Artificial Intelligence (AI) to robotics, we’re going to see tech take precedence over everything else.
I’m excited about all the amazing developments that lie ahead. Studying at IIT Bombay has been my dream since I was in Class 9, and I can’t wait to make it a reality,” he expressed.
