NEET UG 2025 EXAM on May 4 with Tight Security

NEET UG 2025 EXAM will soon be held on May 4, with the National Testing Agency (NTA) making meticulous arrangements to ensure its smooth and secure conduct nationwide. This time, a record 22.7 lakh candidates have applied for the undergraduate medical entrance exam, which will be conducted at 5,453 centres spread across more than 500 cities.

In the wake of increased scrutiny after last year’s paper leak scandal, the NTA is concentrating not only on logistical preparedness but also on tightening security protocols. The majority of test centers for the NEET UG 2025 EXAM are being conducted in government and government-aided institutions to guarantee dependable infrastructure and environment under control.

NEET UG 2025 EXAM: What measures has the NTA undertaken to avoid cheating and maintain fairness at such an enormous level this year?

In a bold step, the NTA has invoked the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, cautioning candidates that any application of unfair means (UFM) prior to, during, or subsequent to the exam may result in stern action, including up to three years debarment from all subsequent NTA-conducted exams. Offenders could also be subjected to criminal or legal action under the new act.

For the purpose of testing the operational preparedness, the NTA will organize mock drills on May 3 at all the NEET centres. The drills will test the operability of mobile signal jammers, biometric authentication systems, and the availability of trained staff for frisking and monitoring. The idea is to close all possible loopholes and have the smooth conduct on the day of the exam.

To further strengthen its preparation, the NEET UG 2025 EXAM will be supervised under a three-tier security system—at the District, State, and Centre levels. The three-layered security system aims to ensure transparency and reduce irregularities across venues.

Given the afternoon timing of the NEET UG 2025 EXAM and the prevailing summer conditions, the NTA has instructed all centres to have facility amenities such as drinking water, constant electricity, working ceiling fans, portable toilet facilities, and emergency healthcare facilities such as first aid and ambulances.

The NTA has given a firm advisory to all candidates appearing for the NEET UG 2025 EXAM: avoid any type of malpractice or cheating. With implementation of the new UFM law, any negligence in integrity may adversely affect a candidate’s future in academics.

The countdown has started, and with only a few days remaining, the NTA is going all out to ensure the NEET UG 2025 EXAM is held fairly, securely, and efficiently throughout India.
