NEET UG 2025: Over 60,000 Students to Appear for Exam in Haryana on May 4

NEET UG 2025 is set to witness a massive turnout in Haryana, with more than 60,000 students registered to take the medical entrance exam on May 4. The state has made extensive preparations to ensure that the examination is conducted smoothly across 162 centres, covering every major district.

According to official data, 60,687 candidates have registered for NEET UG 2025 in Haryana, highlighting the continued enthusiasm among students aspiring to join the medical and dental fields. The exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is one of the largest of its kind in the country and demands a high level of coordination between the examination body and state authorities.

Haryana’s Administrative Machinery in Action

A high-level review meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi in Chandigarh to assess readiness for the exam. The meeting brought together key officials including Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur, Higher Education Director Rahul Hooda, and Additional Chief Secretary Vineet Garg. Also in attendance—virtually and in person—were deputy commissioners, superintendents of police, and NTA representatives.

During the meeting, Chief Secretary Rastogi stressed the importance of flawless execution of the exam process. He instructed all deputy commissioners to conduct on-site inspections at their district’s designated centres and ensure that infrastructure, security, and student support systems were fully in place.

Coordination With NTA and Local Authorities

One of the key directives from the meeting was for district officials to work closely with the NTA city coordinators. The goal: to ensure logistics, staffing, and amenities are finalised well in advance, leaving no room for last-minute lapses.

Each centre is expected to provide basic facilities such as clean drinking water, proper ventilation, adequate seating, medical assistance, and secure storage areas for personal belongings. Additionally, provisions for emergency services and crowd management have been made to handle the large number of attendees.

Gurugram, Hisar, and Faridabad Among Top Exam Hubs

Gurugram leads the chart with 6,672 students appearing across 18 centres, followed by Hisar with 6,332 candidates at 15 centres, and Faridabad with 6,192 students across 17 centres. Other districts like Rohtak, Karnal, Ambala, and Panipat also host a substantial number of examinees.

This distribution has been carefully planned to ensure accessibility and reduce travel time for students coming from different regions.

A Student-Centric Approach

Authorities have been advised to ensure timely transport access, strict security checks, and clear communication channels for both students and parents. Special emphasis is being placed on preventing malpractice, managing large crowds, and maintaining a calm environment conducive to performance.

The Education Department has also been instructed to establish helplines and deploy nodal officers for real-time issue resolution on the day of the exam.

Looking Ahead

As NEET UG 2025 draws near, Haryana’s proactive administrative planning sets the stage for a successful examination experience. For thousands of students, May 4 represents more than just a test—it’s a gateway to their future in medicine.
