The NEET UG 2025 result has officially been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on its website — neet.nta.nic.in. Along with individual scorecards, the final answer key and category-wise qualifying cut-offs have also been published. This year’s cut-offs have seen a significant decline across all categories, allowing more students to qualify for medical counselling.

Major Drop in NEET 2025 Cut-Offs
One of the key highlights of this year’s result is the sharp decrease in the qualifying cut-offs compared to NEET UG 2024. For the General and EWS categories, the qualifying score range has dropped from 720–162 to 686–144. This is one of the most notable dips in recent years.
For OBC, SC, and ST categories, the cut-off has gone from 161–127 last year to 143–113 in 2025. Candidates under OBC-PH, SC-PH, and ST-PH categories now qualify with scores between 126 and 113, while those in the General-PH category qualify with scores from 143 to 127.
This decline is attributed to varying exam difficulty and normalization through percentiles. It means a higher number of students now have a chance to move forward in the admission process.
What’s Next After NEET UG 2025 Result?
Qualified candidates are now eligible to participate in the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling, which will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Each state will also release its own counselling schedule shortly. While the NTA provides the All India Rank (AIR), individual state counselling authorities will prepare merit lists based on local criteria.
Counselling will be held for undergraduate medical programs such as:
- MBBS
- BDS
- BAMS
- BHMS
- BSMS and others
Candidates are advised to regularly check both the MCC and their respective state counselling websites for updates.
