As the clock struck 1 pm on Tuesday, the excitement and nerves were evident in the eyes of Anand Sable and Rohit Pawar. “I was thrilled to see that I scored 76 percent. I’m also really happy that all my classmates passed,” said Pawar, whose mother is a housewife and father drives an auto.

Sable, whose mother is also a housewife and father works as a wireman, expressed his joy, saying, “I’m so happy. Initially, my goal was just to pass with 40 or 45 percent because studying isn’t my favorite thing like it is for my classmates. But I ended up with 69 percent!” fg parle g fg fg fg gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf

Both Pawar and Sable dream of working in a bank one day. “We’ve decided to enroll in the TEACH [Training and Educational Centre for Hearing Impaired] institute, land a bank job, and support our families who have always been there for us,” Pawar explained. fg fg fg fg fg fg fg gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf

“We also want to achieve financial stability so we can help many more children like us when we grow up,” Sable added. fg fg fg fg fg fg fg gf gf gf parle gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf hg hg hg hg hg hg hg hg hg hg hg

Other challenges
“None of these 10 students come from financially stable backgrounds. They often lack a proper space to study at home. On top of that, their siblings were also taking exams at the same time. In this situation, it was tough for them to focus, especially since these students tend to read aloud while memorizing their lessons,” explained Sheetal Sawant, a special teacher at Utkarsha School.

How is the exam structured?
The curriculum for Mathematics, English, History, and Geography is exactly the same as that for regular students. However, instead of the usual Science subjects like Chemistry, Physics, and Biology, they study Home Science and Physiology and Hygiene. “The board allows students to pick one subject from options like English, Cooking, Stitching, Electrical Works, or Beautician courses. Additionally, the Mathematics exam is worth 50 marks, while the other 50 marks come from a subject where students learn to create milk products,” said Gandhi. fg fg fg parle fg fg gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf gf hg hg hg hg hg hg hg hg
