Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College in Tikri, Prayagraj, has drawn severe criticism with a viral clip surfacing, in which the manager, Sanjay Shukla, has been seen ruthlessly beating a B.Pharma student who sought to meet him over a legitimate academic complaint. The horrific assault, which had been recorded by the victim on camera and sent viral on social media, outraged many and calls for stricter regulations of private pharmacy colleges under affiliation with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow.
The controversy erupted when some first-year B.Pharma students of Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College found that they were not able to download their admit cards for the upcoming AKTU exams starting on May 16. On probing further, the students were amazed to find out that they had never been enrolled with AKTU even though they had attended classes, submitted assignments, and paid fees for the academic year.
The students, cheated and desperate to recover their academic year, went to the college authorities seeking an explanation. Rather than getting clarification, one of the students was physically attacked by the college manager, Sanjay Shukla, within the college campus. The video captures Shukla slapping and manhandling the student while others in the room watch.

Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College: Why were students not registered with AKTU even after full academic attendance?
This query now forms the core of a brewing scandal, as the concerned students call for urgent action by AKTU and the Uttar Pradesh education department. In their version of events, the students say their persistent efforts to get clarity on the status of their university registration were either dismissed or responded to with false promises by the Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College administration.
The video clip has since gone viral, prompting outrage from education activists, student unions, and civil society organizations. Netizens were not only shocked by the physical violence but also by the wider issue of academic dishonesty and mismanagement. Hashtags demanding justice for students and accountability by Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College have topped trending lists on platforms.
Tikri locals in Prayagraj accuse the college manager Sanjay Shukla of being notorious in the locality for his rash behavior and habitual drunkenness. “He is always drunk during college time and behaves badly with students as well as staff members,” a former staff member has alleged on the condition of anonymity. “The atmosphere at Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College was always poisonous, and now the truth has come out.”
In spite of several attempts by news sources to obtain a statement from Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College management, no official statement has been made. The campus itself is said to have suspended normal activities in the wake of the public outcry.
Following the video, a number of student groups have lodged complaints at the local police station and the AKTU administration. Although no FIR has officially been confirmed as yet, local law enforcement authorities indicate that they are aware of the incident and are verifying the video and students’ testimonies.
Parents of the students too have organised protests in front of the gates of Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College, asking for the college’s affiliation to be cancelled and the students to be adjusted in the next AKTU exams by special means.
“Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College has marred our children’s academic year,” an agitated parent raged. “If they are not enrolled with the university, they will not be able to appear for exams, and all the time, money, and effort will go down the drain. Who will be responsible for this?”
AKTU has not yet released a formal statement over the scandal. But insiders confirm that the university is serious about the issue and might open an investigation into the operations and registration procedures adopted by Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College.
Education rights activists have demanded a wider audit of private colleges affiliated to AKTU to ensure that such fraudulent admission procedures are not a widespread phenomenon. They contend that this case may be the tip of the iceberg and that hundreds of students throughout Uttar Pradesh may be victims of similar administrative negligence.
While this, however, is not happening, legal experts have pointed out that the college can be held liable for civil and criminal charges such as fraud, breach of contract, and physical assault. If established, these charges could result in serious legal repercussions for Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College and its manager, Sanjay Shukla.
Students have also sought that AKTU give them an emergency window to register and give provisional admit cards so they will not be academically punished for Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College’s mismanagement.
This case has again triggered public debate over the regulation and quality control of private technical and pharmacy colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Opponents point out that institutions such as Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College function with a lack of sufficient monitoring, keeping profit over education in mind, resulting in the exploitation of students and mental trauma.
With the video still in circulation and increasing public pressure, the focus continues to be intensely on Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College and its management. Students, parents, and human rights groups are seeking speedy justice, demanding that Sanjay Shukla be suspended immediately, and AKTU ensuring that the future of no student is ruined because of the college’s failure.
Until then, the students of Satyam Shivam Shubham Pharmacy College who have been affected are left uncertain about their academic future, keeping their fingers crossed that justice will not be tardy.
