TATA Power-DDL introduces its ‘Club Enerji’ programme in North and North West Delhi government schools to educate students on sustainability, energy conservation, and climate awareness through interactive, hands-on learning.
In a promising move towards nurturing environmentally aware and responsible citizens, TATA Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TATA Power-DDL) has launched its flagship environmental education initiative, ‘Club Enerji’, in government schools across North and North West Delhi. This impactful programme will run throughout the current academic session, aiming to equip school students with the knowledge, values, and habits needed to live more sustainably and make environmentally conscious choices.
The initiative has been officially approved by the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE), underscoring its relevance and educational merit. ‘Club Enerji’ is not just another extracurricular activity—it is a forward-thinking programme designed to spark a mindset shift among young learners, encouraging them to think beyond academics and become champions of sustainability in their everyday lives.

What Is ‘Club Enerji’?
‘Club Enerji’ is a specially designed, school-based awareness programme that dives deep into some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. Students will explore topics such as:
- Energy conservation
- Climate change and its impact
- Air pollution and public health
- Sustainability and the role of renewable energy
- Personal hygiene, safety, and healthy living
- Ethical values and responsible behaviour
The programme takes a hands-on, interactive approach, using activities like group discussions, real-life case studies, creative competitions, poster-making, storytelling, debates, and quizzes to engage students meaningfully. It is structured to not just inform, but to inspire real behavioural change—at school, at home, and in the wider community.
Learning That Goes Beyond the Classroom
Unlike conventional methods that often rely heavily on textbooks and rote learning, ‘Club Enerji’ introduces a refreshing change. The sessions are designed to be interactive and practical, helping students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills while addressing real-world issues.
Whether it’s a debate on climate policy or a role-play activity on conserving water, every session encourages students to explore, question, and reflect on how their actions affect the planet. In doing so, the programme nurtures what TATA Power-DDL refers to as “responsible energy citizens”—young individuals who understand the importance of their role in shaping a cleaner, greener world.
Completely Free and Academically Balanced
As per the circular issued by the Delhi Directorate of Education, the programme will be conducted free of cost. There will be no financial burden on the government, schools, or students. Importantly, the sessions have been planned in such a way that regular classroom teaching remains undisturbed.
The implementation of ‘Club Enerji’ will be closely monitored by the Heads of Schools, who will be responsible for reviewing and approving trainers before the sessions begin. This ensures that the programme aligns with each school’s educational standards and values.
Ethical Framework and Privacy Protection
The DoE has also established strict ethical guidelines to maintain neutrality and protect the privacy of students:
- No logos, commercial branding, or promotional content will be used during any part of the sessions.
- Photographs, videos, or other media content involving students will not be shared unless explicit permission is granted by the Education Department.
- Sessions will take place under the supervision of designated teachers, ensuring both safety and academic alignment.
Why This Initiative Is So Important
As global concerns about climate change, pollution, and environmental degradation grow more serious by the day, it’s essential that we begin environmental education early in life. ‘Club Enerji’ is a powerful tool to help the next generation understand their role in creating a sustainable future. By exposing students to these critical issues in their formative years, the programme seeks to build lifelong habits of conscious decision-making and responsible citizenship.
In empowering students today, TATA Power-DDL’s Club Enerji is helping build a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable India for tomorrow.
