The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a major recruitment drive as part of its ongoing institutional reforms. The move comes after the agency terminated the services of 47 officials and introduced a series of measures to strengthen transparency, accountability, and the overall conduct of national entrance examinations.
The recruitment initiative includes hiring experienced professionals for senior leadership positions and engaging 16 Young Professionals through the Union Public Service Commission’s (UPSC) Pratibha Setu portal. According to the Ministry of Education, these appointments are intended to enhance the NTA’s academic, technological, legal, and operational capabilities.
Why Is the NTA Hiring New Professionals?
The latest recruitment drive is part of a broader restructuring process that began after concerns over the conduct of national entrance examinations, including the NEET-UG paper leak controversy. New Leadership Roles to Strengthen the Agency
As part of the recruitment process, the NTA has advertised senior positions at the level of General Manager in specialised areas such as:

- Digital Forensics
- Test Centre Operations
- Assessment Research
These professionals will help strengthen internal monitoring, improve examination security, investigate malpractice, and enhance operational efficiency. The agency is looking for candidates with extensive experience in investigation, law enforcement, cybersecurity, and examination management.
Young Professionals to Join Through UPSC Pratibha Setu
For the first time, the NTA is recruiting 16 Young Professionals through the UPSC Pratibha Setu portal.
The positions include:
- 12 roles in Academic Research
- 2 roles in Legal Research
- 2 roles in Finance and Accounts
Eligible candidates are those who have appeared for the Civil Services Examination and are registered on the Pratibha Setu platform. The selected professionals will initially be appointed for two years, with the possibility of an extension based on performance.
A Step Towards Stronger Examination Systems
The recruitment drive is one of several reforms introduced to rebuild public confidence in the NTA. Along with hiring new professionals, the agency is expected to strengthen its technology systems, improve examination security, expand digital forensic capabilities, and increase oversight of test centres.
